Step 1 of 3
Find Your Refrigerator Model Number
Your model number is the key to finding the exact right part. It's a short code — usually 8–15 characters — printed on a label somewhere on your fridge. Here's exactly where to look.
What you're looking for
A white or silver sticker with a barcode, usually labeled "Model No." or "Model:" followed by a combination of letters and numbers like WRS325SDHZ or GSS25GSHSS.
3 Places to Check
Where to Find the Label on Your Fridge
Check these spots in order — most people find it on the first try.
Inside the Door Frame
Most common — check here first
Open your fridge door and look at the inner edge of the door frame (the part that meets the fridge body when closed). The label is usually a white or silver sticker with a barcode, model number, and serial number printed on it.
Pro tip: The label is often on the left side of the door frame, about halfway up.
Back Wall of the Fridge Compartment
Common on older models
Remove a shelf or two and look at the back wall inside the refrigerator section. Some manufacturers place the label here, especially on older or side-by-side models.
Pro tip: You may need to remove a crisper drawer or shelf to see it clearly.
Behind the Kick Plate (Bottom Front)
Less common, but worth checking
The kick plate is the decorative panel at the very bottom front of your fridge. On some models, the label is tucked behind it. You can usually pop it off by hand or with a flathead screwdriver.
Pro tip: This is more common on built-in or counter-depth refrigerators.

Before You Search
4 Things to Know About Your Model Number
Write it down or take a photo
Before you close the fridge, snap a photo of the entire label with your phone. You'll want the model number AND the serial number.
Model number vs. serial number
The model number identifies your fridge's make and design (e.g., WRS325SDHZ). The serial number is unique to your specific unit. You need the model number to find parts.
Use the Amazon app to scan
The Amazon app has a barcode scanner. Point it at the barcode on your label and it may pull up compatible parts automatically.
Can't find the label?
Check your owner's manual, the original purchase receipt, or search your email for the appliance purchase confirmation — the model number is often listed there.
